VILLA CELIMONTANA ARRIVA IN CINA

“Il 2006 sara’ l’anno dell’Italia in Cina” - annunciava il nostro Presidente della Repubblica in occasione della sua Visita di Stato nel dicembre del 2004 - affermando ufficialmente la ferma volontà del nostro paese di presentarsi al grande partner asiatico in modo articolato , complessivo e coerente.

La nostra organizzazione non poteva mancare a questo appuntamento.

E così… si parte!
Il jazz italiano avrà il suo “battesimo” cinese con Villa Celimontana.

In collaborazione con il Beijing CPAA Century Culture Communication Co. ed il Ministero degli Affari Esteri, dal 14 al 21 maggio in occasione del Festival Meet in Beijng , a Pechino e Shenvang si esibiranno alcune tra le migliori formazioni jazzistiche italiane e anche giovani talenti .

Stiamo preparando dei pacchetti speciali per farvi partecipare all’evento ed avere la strepitosa opportunità di visitare con noi la misteriosa Cina.

“2006 will be the year of Italy in China” – this is what Italy’s President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi declared during his state visit to that country in December 2004. This was a clear and official signal of our country’s will to provide a coherent and well articulated view of its rich complexities to its great Asian partner.
Our organization could not break this appointment.

And so... we are off!

Thanks to a collaborative effort between Villa Celimontana, the Beijing CPAA Century Culture Communication Co., and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Italian Jazz will have its “Chinese baptism” at the upcoming Festival Meet, to be held in Beijing, Peking and Shenvang in May 16-21, 2006. This event will feature some of the best Italian Jazz ensembles as well as a number of young talents.
We will soon offer travel packages that will give you the unique opportunity to join us in visiting this mysterious country.

MICHAEL BRECKER , 56 ANNI E' STATO COLPITO DALLA SINDROME MIELODISPLASICA

La sindrome mielodisplastica (SMD) è un gruppo di sindromi (preleucemia, anemia refrattaria, leucemia mielocitica cronica Ph-negativa, leucemia mielomonocitica cronica, metaplasia mieloide agnogenica) comunemente osservata in pazienti con più di 50 anni. La sua incidenza è sconosciuta, ma sta aumentando, probabilmente in parte per la crescita proporzionale della popolazione anziana e per l'aumento delle leucemie correlate alla terapia. L'esposizione al benzene e alle radiazioni può essere correlata al suo sviluppo.

Michael Brecker, musicista di fama internazionale , per le sue innovazioni legate all’armonia è il personaggio più studiato nelle scuole di musica di tutto il mondo.
Una lunga lista di artisti con i quali ha suonato: Mc Coy Tyner, Herbie Hancock , James Taylor, Chick Corea, Chet Baker, George Benson, Quincy Jones, John Lennon , Charles Mingus, Joni Mitchell, Aerosmith, Paul Simon, Wynton Marsalis, Frank Sinatra, James Brown, Bruce Springsteen , Steely Dan, Pat Metheny, Billy Joel ed Elton John.

Come leader e co- leader dei Brecker Brothers e con la sua collaborazione con Herbie Hancock e Roy Hargrove ha ricevuto 11 Grammy Awards, il numero piu’ alto totalizzato da un sassofonista.
Noi di Celimontana ricordiamo ancora il superlativo concerto insieme a Stefano di Battista che organizzammo al Teatro Ambra Jovinelli il 7 gennaio 2002.

MICHAEL BRECKER, 56 HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH MYELODISPLASTIC SYNDROME
Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a group of diseases (preleukemia, refractory anemia, chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia, agnogenic myeloid metaplasia) commonly observed in patients over the age of fifty. Its rate of occurrence is currently unknown, but appears to be on the rise, due probably in part to a general increase in the elderly population and the overall increase in treatment-related leukemias. Correlations have been found between its development and exposure to benzene and radiation.

As a result of his harmonic innovations, Michael is among the most studied contemporary instrumentalists in music schools throughout the world today.
