Villa Celimontana has always opened its doors to a tout-court culture, though beeing stronly linked to the jazz tradition. The challenge is to create, inside the Roman Summer context, a real "Jazzy Town": together with the principal attraction, that is of course the concert on the main stage, we find all around a world ready to be discovered, amongst books, illustrations and different settings.
Movies from the twenty's and thirty's introduce the spectator to the history of jazz, making the people approach a more ample and open cultural dimension. The theatre of the young theatrical companies and the cinema meetings contribute to the success of all the parallell initiatives that have been characterizing and enriching our festival for several years. This has lead to the birth in 2006 of "The Other Fstival". The idea was born with the intent of trasforming the road that leads to the stage in a sort of iniziatic path that makes the spectator feel the magic of the villa. The park is transformed in a sort of "museum park" open day and night. Together with the magic notes of Jazz we want to give each year more space to the "Image" aspect of the venue....
