Villa Celimontana is not only Jazz & Image.
Our offices put a lot of energy into the summer festival, but the Jazz Festival that fills the Roman Summer with jazz music is not our only challenge.
During the past we have managed four editions of the “Rome Jazz Festival” in collaboration with the Municipality of Rome at the Olimpico Theatre, we have proposed “Concert-Lessons” in some Roman High Schools and in the Roman universities of “La Sapienza” and “Tor Vergata” and collaborated with several art galleries organizing some exhibitions on “Painting and Sounds”.
In 1998 together with the Brunello Consortium and the Municipality of Montalcino we gave life to the first edition of “ Jazz & Wine”, a way of assembling sounds and a jazzy atmosphere with the taste and history of wine. The event has now reached its 8th edition. Since 2002 there is also the winter edition: “Jazz & Winter”.
Since 2001 we have been organizing the event Happy Good Jazz Year, Jazz on The Road, Jazz on the Beach: together with organizing the 12th edition of “Jazz & Image” and other fixed appointments, including the introduction of “Italian Jazz in New York”.
Our aim has been to promote Italian talents in the Jazz capital: to spread the culture of Italian jazz and promote the image of our country. The event “Italian Jazz in New York” was held from the 1st to the 6th March, was supported by the Lazio Region and by the Italian Cultural Institute in New York and in 2006 the second edition is scheduled. Last May Villa Celimontana managed the organization and artistic direction of the jazz section of the “Reggio Parma Festival”, event that is in its 4th edition and is held on two different territories at the same time: Reggio Emilia and Parma, supported by the Ministry of Culture. Our proposal has been “E. Jazz”, a kind of workshop of electronic music where the different structural expressions of this art are explored.
Villa Celimontana has arrived to Israel where it has proposed an all Italian jazz Festival.
