The hard work was successful, soon after the Alexanderplatz  became an international hallmark for New York, London and Paris and has functioned as a school of life for Italian artists who are now world famous. After the successful experience of the club, the idea of creating a summer event was born. In 1994 the proposal was sent to the Municipality of Rome: to renew the “Roman Summer” with an open air event which regarded jazz, set in one of the beautiful Roman Villas that are open to the public during the day but closed at night. The proposal was approved; Villa Celimontana was chosen as the Jazz Villa and the exhibition on “Summer jazz” shyly started, with a small stage that proposed jazz starting from late afternoon. The voice   spread rapidly and the flow of people became unrestrained! In 1995 “Jazz & Image” was born: the exhibition proposed art, jazz and a short film festival competition. Year after year the programme intensified and people started coming from all over the world. Today we are preparing the XIII edition of the Festival and Alexanderplatz is the trial run for the summer exhibition of artists and musicians.
